Easy Hamburger Steaks & Gravy

This meal is an easy, go-to comfort meal for those busy weeknights!

  • 1 1/2lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp dried minced onions
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp butter, divided
  • 8 oz sliced button mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 14.5oz cup beef broth
  • Salt/Black Pepper, to taste
  • Recipe

In a large bowl, combine beef, milk, Worcestershire sauce, onions, steak seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix until combined well then shape into 4 round, 3/4-inch patties. If desired, season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp of the butter in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the hamburger steaks 5-6 minutes per side, until an internal temperature minimum of 165°F is reached or to desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside. To the skillet, add remaining butter. Once melted, add sliced mushroom and sauté until tender, about 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine well. After 1 minute, pour in broth, and stir until smooth, scraping up any small bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer 3-4 minutes to thicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve gravy on top of the hamburger steak with your favorite sides.
