Every March 14th I tell myself I’ll keep it simple “just one pie, no big deal.” And then Pi Day arrives and suddenly I’m standing in my kitchen completely torn between a glossy, meringue-topped chocolate pie that tastes like my mom’s kitchen and a bubbling, cheesy taco pie that feeds a hungry crowd with zero complaints. The answer, of course, is to just make both. That’s exactly how this list came together.
These are the pies I actually make and love. The tried-and-true family recipes passed down from my mom and mamaw, the no-bake wonders that come together in minutes, the adorable minis that disappear off the platter before you can blink, and the hearty savory pies that prove Pi Day doesn’t have to be all about dessert.
