When it comes to a holiday party, it’s hard to beat this beautiful and festive baked brie!

This is a picture of a crescent roll filled with brie, prosciutto, jam and melon in the shape of a candy cane.

Accented with Pure Flavor® Alonna™ Canary Melon, this holiday appetizer the perfect combination of savory and sweet!

    What You’ll Need

    • Pure Flavor® Alonna™ Canary Melon
    • Crescent Roll Dough
    • Fig Jam
    • Brie
    • Prosciutto
    • Egg
    • Fresh Thyme
    • Salt
    • Grapes
    • Fresh Rosemary
    • Pomegranate Arils

    Tools You’ll Need

    • Paring Knife
    • Pastry Brush
    • Spreader

    How to Make This Recipe

    1. A juicy and sweet Pure Flavor® Alonna™ Canary Melon sets this baked brie recipe apart from others. Slice ½ of 1 melon into 2-inch slices…save the rest for delicious snacking!
    2. Line a sheet pan or stone with parchment paper. This is important so that you can easily release and transfer the end-product to a serving tray.
    3. Slice each crescent roll triangle longways into 2 separate triangles, making 16 smaller triangles. Arrange the triangles in a candy cane shape form, with the short ends slightly overlapping and pointed ends all facing outwards. Using your fingers flatten the wide ends slightly to create a base for the filling.  You’ll want the base about 3-inches wide so that you have room for the filling.
    1. Spread the fig jam evenly along base, then top with the sliced brie, prosciutto and melon.
    1. Fold the triangle tips over the filling and tuck under the base to secure. Using a pastry brush, brush the a lightly beaten egg white on top of the dough and sprinkle with fresh thyme and salt.
    2. Bake the candy cane until the dough is golden brown on top and the filling is bubbling between. Gently transfer the candy cane to a serving tray in 2 pieces using 2 spatulas along the bottom for support. Once it’s been moved, place the two pieces back together again.
    3. Garnish the candy cane as you’d like. You can get creative with festive brushes of fresh herbs and berries. The only serving utensil you’ll need is something to easily cut though and separate each triangle piece.

    Recipe Tips and Substitutions

    • If you don’t have a Pure Flavor® Alonna™ Canary Melon in your area, you can substitute with another sweet melon.
