Expert Tips

  • Avoid overcooking. Bake until the quiches are just cooked through. The middle should be set and no longer jiggly, the edges should pull away from the pan and the tops should be golden. Overcooking will lead to a tough, dried out texture.
  • Customize flavors with add-ins or toppings. These are super easy to adjust based on your taste preferences. Add in different meats, cheeses or veggies depending on what you like. They don’t all have to be the same either.
  • Grease the muffin pan well with cooking spray to avoid any sticking.
  • Grate the cheese by hand for the best melt. Pre-shredded cheeses won’t yield as gooey of a result.

Variations

  • Add in veggies. Mix in diced bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, or broccoli florets for flavor and color.
  • Try different cheeses. Substitute any other cheese for a different flavor profile. Mozzarella, gouda, feta, or goat would be delicious.
  • Use egg whites only to lighten it up. Skip the yolks for a slightly lighter quiche.
  • Swap the bacon for sausage. Just be sure to brown the sausage and break into small crumbles before adding to the muffin tin.
