    Expert Tips

    • Great as a weeknight dinner or for entertaining. We love to set up a toppings for so everyone can make their own individual pizza. It's fun for the whole family!
    • Grate your mozzarella from the block. This makes it extra gooey and cheesy since there's no starch coating the cheese like on pre-shredded mozzarella.
    • Bake the Texas Toast by itself first and then top with sauce and toppings and bake again. We like doing this to make sure the toast isn't soggy underneath.

    Storage

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven, toaster oven, or microwave for a couple of minutes until warmed through.

We don't recommend freezing the leftovers, since the Texas Toast was frozen to begin with, this would change the texture.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What else can I use besides Texas Toast?

Any garlic toast works well or you can even use French bread. We recommend a thicker cut crusty bread for a sturdy base to hold the sauce and cheese.

    What is Texas Toast?

It's buttery bread with garlic and sometimes cheese that's cut thick, about 1-inch, and found in the freezer section of the store.

How do I keep the toast crisp?

Be sure you cook the toast almost all the way through before adding toppings. This will create a crispy base for the pizza toppings.
