Hanky Pankys

Growing up, no Home Interior, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, sport, or holiday party was complete without a tray of Hanky Pankys! They’re my second favorite appetizer (second to sausage balls). Cheesy meaty goodness on a tiny toast with just the perfect amount of heat….YESSSS!!! These will be gone in a North Pole minute!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lb American cheese
  • 1 loaf cocktail rye bread
  • Recipe

To a medium skillet on medium-high heat, crumble and brown the beef and sausage until no longer pink. Drain any excess grease and return to the pan on medium heat. Fold in the cheese and spices and cook until cheese is melted. Scoop and spread 2 tbsp of the cheesy meat mixture on each rye bread and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350ºF 10-15 minutes.
