Hanky Pankys

Growing up, no Home Interior, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, sport, or holiday party was complete without a tray of Hanky Pankys! They’re my second favorite appetizer (second to sausage balls). Cheesy meaty goodness on a tiny toast with just the perfect amount of heat….YESSSS!!! These will be gone in a North Pole minute!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lb American cheese
  • 1 loaf cocktail rye breadPe

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • To a medium skillet on medium-high heat, crumble and brown the beef and sausage until no longer pink. Drain any excess grease and return to the pan on medium heat. 
  • Fold in the cheese and spices and cook until cheese is melted. 
  • Scoop and spread 2 tbsp of the cheesy meat mixture on each rye bread and place on a baking sheet. 
  • Bake 10-15 minutes.
