Scroll down to the end of this post for specific ingredient amounts in the recipe card.

    • Cream Cheese: Acts as the creamy base for the dip. Room-temperature cream cheese will help with the mixing process!
    • Borden® Cheese Mozzarella Cheese Shreds: Melts beautifully and gives that classic stretchy cheese quality we love on pizza.
    • Borden® Cheese Cheddar Cheese Shreds: Adds a sharp, tangy flavor that complements the other cheeses. Mild or sharp both work!
    • Italian Seasoning: Infuses the dip with traditional pizza herbs.
    • Pizza Sauce: Brings the iconic pizza taste that ties everything together. It adds sweetness and moisture.
    • Borden® Cheese Parmesan Cheese Shreds: Offers a salty, nutty flavor that enhances the richness of the dip.
    • Mini Pepperonis: Delicious pepperoni adds a fun, meaty bite to the dip.
    • Dippers (Garlic Bread Crisps, Tortilla Chips, Sourdough Bread Cubes): Perfect for scooping up the dip, providing a crunchy contrast to the creamy filling.

    Tools You’ll Need

    • 9-inch Pie Plate or 8x8-inch Square Baking Dish
    • Mixing Bowls
    • Spatula
    • Measuring Cups and Spoons

How to Make this Oven-Baked Pizza Dip Recipe

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1 ½ cups of the mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth and well-combined with a hand mixer or spatula.
    1. Transfer the cheese mixture into a pie pan or casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
    1. Pour the pizza sauce over the cheese mixture, spreading it out gently.
    1. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of mozzarella cheese on top, followed by Parmesan cheese and pepperoni slices.
    1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese has started to turn golden brown.
    2. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with store-bought garlic bread crisps, tortilla chips, or a crusty bread like baguette slices or cubed sourdough bread. Homemade garlic bread cheese crisps are great as well! (see below).

    Dippers for Pizza Dip

There are lots of store-bought dippers that work great for this dip! Garlic bread crisps, tortilla chips, sourdough bread cubes, bagel chips, pita chips, and a crusty French bread are a few options! However, you can take this dip to the next level with homemade garlic bread cheese crisps!

To make homemade crisps, slice a baguette into ½-inch thick diagonal slices. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder or minced garlic cloves, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt. Spread a generous amount of the mixture on one side of each bread slice, and place on a baking sheet, garlic butter side up. (See full recipe in the recipe card at the bottom of the page.)

Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden, crispy, and the cheese is melted. Serve alongside pizza dip.

    Pro Tips and Substitutions

    • Make Ahead. You can prepare the dip ahead of time, cover it, and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake.
    • Garnish. For an extra touch, garnish with fresh basil or additional mini pepperonis before serving.
    • Add Other Pizza Toppings. Feel free to add chopped green bell peppers, black olives, crushed red pepper flakes, or onions for extra flavor and texture.
    • Sauce Variations. You can use marinara sauce or a spicy pizza sauce for a different flavor profile.
    • Meat Options. Substitute mini pepperonis with cooked Italian sausage or cooked crumbled bacon for added flavor.
    • Types of Cheese. Feel free to experiment with other Borden® Cheese Shred varieties based on your preferences—options like provolone, gouda, or pepper jack can add unique flavors.
    • Low-Fat Alternatives. You can lighten up the dip by using reduced-fat cream cheese, low-fat cheese, and adding vegetables like sautéed onion, bell pepper, or mushrooms, or fresh diced tomatoes to the mixture for added nutrition.

This delicious crockpot Lasagna Dip has similar flavors and the same epic cheese pull!

    Storage and Freezing

Store any leftover pizza dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, simply warm it in the oven at 350°F until heated through or microwave it in short intervals until hot.

While it’s best enjoyed fresh, you can freeze the prepared dip before baking. Just thaw it in the refrigerator overnight before baking. Keep in mind that the freeze and thaw process will impact the dips' texture.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can I use different cheeses?

Absolutely! Feel free to mix and match your favorite cheeses based on your taste preferences. Options like provolone, gouda, or pepper jack can add unique flavors to your dip.

Can I make Pizza Dip ahead of time?

Yes! You can prepare the dip in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Just assemble the ingredients in the baking dish, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When you’re ready to serve, simply bake it as directed.

You can use a variety of dippers such as garlic bread crisps, tortilla chips, sourdough bread cubes, breadsticks, or even sliced vegetables like celery and bell peppers for a healthier option.
