    Crockpot Boiled Peanuts are simple to make with just green peanuts, water and salt. You can make them salty or with a cajun twist with a spice blend. Serve them as a healthy snack or appetizer for a crowd.

    Some might say these nuts are an acquired taste, but once you find out you like them, they can be addictive! Growing up in the South, I can say I'm pretty much an expert when it comes to making boiled peanuts. I made sure with this version of the recipe, you don't need to worry about watching them boil away for hours on the stove.

    With only 2-3 ingredients, this recipe let's you set-it-and-forget-it in less than 5 minutes thanks to the slow cooker. Boiled peanuts are salty, smooth, savory, filling, and fun to eat outside, around a campfire, at the lake, football tailgate…pretty much anywhere! Feeling spicy, make them cajun style! We love having these warm or cold for a snack and taking them to casual get-togethers.

    1. Pour enough water into the crockpot to fully submerge the nuts and allow room for them to expand during cooking. They should be covered by about 2 inches of water.

    2. After the initial cooking time, check the peanuts for doneness. They should be tender and flavorful. If needed, continue cooking until they reach the desired consistency. Taste and adjust the seasonings as necessary. Add more Cajun seasoning, salt, or hot sauce based on your taste preferences.

    Instant Pot Boiled Peanuts

    It's also so easy to make boiled peanuts in the Instant Pot too! This method is by far the quickest way to make this recipe, it just takes a mere 90 minutes. Here are the steps:

    1. Rinse raw peanuts under cold water to remove dirt. Place in the Instant Pot.
    2. Add salt and cover with water until peanuts are fully submerged. Close the Instant Pot lid, set the vent to "Sealing," and select the "Bean/Chili" setting. Adjust the cooking time to 90 minutes on high pressure.
    3. Allow natural pressure release for about 15-20 minutes. Open the Instant Pot, and test the nuts for desired tenderness. If needed, cook for additional time.

    • ½-3/4 cup kosher salt
    • 1 ½ pound raw jumbo peanuts in the shell not roasted

      Thank you for this recipe! Raised in Alabama boiled peanuts were a delicious normal snack. After moving to Texas, I have found Texans do not appreciate boiled peanuts! They think I am crazy!
