- 9 slices bacon
- 8 oz mushrooms sliced
- 1 small yellow onion thinly sliced
- 1 package King's Hawaiian Slider Buns
- 1/2-3/4 lb deli sliced chicken
- 4 oz Colby Jack cheese slices
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise regular or light
- 2 1/2 tbsp honey divided
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp butter room temperature
Preheat the oven to 350℉.
In a large skillet on medium high heat, cook bacon until crispy then remove from the pan.
Remove and discard all but 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease. Sauté the mushrooms and onion until tender, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet.
Build the sliders in a square baking dish starting with the slider bun base. On top of the base, evenly distribute the following ingredients in this order: deli chicken, sautéed mushrooms and onions, cheese slices and crumbled bacon.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of the honey and dijon mustard. Once combined, evenly drizzle over the slider filling.
In another small bowl, blend together butter and remaining honey. Spread on the top side of the top buns, then lay the buns on top of the slider filling.
Dome and cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake covered 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5-10 minutes or until the buns are toasted. Garnish with green onion and a skewer if desired.
