Tips

  • How to Clean Mushrooms. Cleaning mushrooms is simple and easy. Gently wipe them with a damp paper towel or soft-bristled brush to remove any dirt or debris. Avoid soaking in water as they can absorb moisture and become soggy, which can affect their texture and flavor during cooking.
  • Mushrooms Prep Tips. Do your best to pick a package of mushrooms that are consistent in size. Also, make sure to chop the filling components in even pieces for easier mushroom stuffing and to ensure each bite has a little bit of everything!
  • Cheese Alternatives. If you don’t have Boursin, cream cheese mixed with herbs or another flavored cheese can work as a substitute.
  • Breadcrumb Choices: Use regular bread crumbs or gluten-free panko for a nutty crunch.
  • Herb Boost. Add chopped fresh thyme or chives for extra freshness.
  • Spice It Up. Mix in red pepper flakes or a dash of smoked paprika for added flavor.

Serving and Storage

Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F for 10-15 minutes until heated through. Freezing isn’t ideal as it compromises the texture.
For the crispiest topping, it’s best to enjoy them fresh.
