Korean BBQ Sauce Sandwiches

Ready for a quick and easy weeknight dinner? This Korean BBQ Sauce Sandwich is just that! It also makes for a delicious wrap or topped on rice!

Ingredients
 

  • 2 lb ground pork, chicken, turkey or beef
  • 3 green onions sliced and white/green separated
  • ½-1 tablespoon Asian Seasoning see note
  • ½-1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
  • 1-1 ½ cups Korean BBQ Marinade and Sauce
  • Hamburger Buns, Light Bread or Lettuce Boats optional
  • Sesame Seeds options

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet, cook and crumble meat.
  • Once the meat is nearly cooked through, add the whites of the green onions, Asian seasoning and dried minced garlic. Stir and cooked until the meat has reach a safe internal temperature and onion is tender.
  • Stir in Korean BBQ sauce, and allow the mixture to simmer 1 minute.
  • If a thicker mixture consistency is desired, add a cornstarch slurry made with a mixture of 1 tablespoon water and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Stir it into the meat mixture and simmer an additional minute.
  • Add the meat mixture to lettuce boats or between bread slices. Garnish with sesame seeds and the greens of the green onions.
