Ingredients

  • 2 8oz packages Pillsbury Sweet Hawaiian Crescent Rolls
  • 1 ½ lb sliced deli ham
  • 1 lb sliced Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup honey or hot honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • optional garnish: leafy green lettuce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉.
  • Grease or line a large round pizza pan or stone with parchment paper. Arrange crescent rolls in a circle, short side in the middle/pointed ends out, slightly overlapping. With a small rolling pin or with your fingertips, flatten the center of dough to about a 5-inch wide base for the filling.
  • Evenly distribute ham on top of the flattened base followed by Swiss cheese slices.
  • Bring the outside points of the dough over the filling to the center of the ring and tuck under.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together butter and Worcestershire sauce. Brush on top of the dough. Sprinkle the dough evenly with poppy seeds and dried minced onion.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Allow the ring to rest 10 minutes prior to serving.
  • For the dipping sauce, in a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, honey and dijon mustard. Serve in a small bowl in the center of the baked ring, garnished with lettuce around it if desired.

Notes

  • If your deli ham has moisture on the outside, dry with a paper towel first. Added moisture can make the crescent roll dough soggy.
  • If you don't have a pizza pan or round stone, you can make the ring in an oval shape on a large sheet pan.
  • If you don’t like Swiss cheese, substitute with nearly any sliced cheese variety. Cheddar, mozzarella, American, or Monterey Jack cheeses all work great.
  • This recipe can be halved if desired. Simply create a smaller sun shape with 1 can of dough and halve the remaining ingredients.
  • If served as a main entree, this ring is perfect paired with a side salad, raw vegetables and dip, steamed/sautéed/roasted vegetables or soup.
