This comforting Slow Cooker Italian Beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender and prepped in just 15 minutes for a family favorite dinner. With just seven ingredients, it's an Italian pot roast recipe I've been perfecting for years.
Heat oil in a large skillet on high heat. Season roast on both sides with salt and pepper and sear 2-3 minutes per side. (Seasoning and searing first is optional.)
To a Crockpot, whisk together tomato sauce, broth, Italian salad dressing mix, brown gravy mix, dried onion, and garlic powder.
Submerge the roast, cover and cook on low 8-10 hours.
Once complete, remove the roast, shred, and return to the Crockpot.
Serve over mixed with or over pasta. It's also excellent ladled over rice or mashed potatoes.
