Herb and Onion Dip

Ingredients
 

  • 7.5 ounce container Philadelphia Garlic & Herb Whipped Cream Cheese Spread
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 ounce envelope dried onion soup mix
  • ¼-1/3 cup French's Crispy Fried Onions

Instructions

  • Combine cream cheese, sour cream and onion soup mix in a medium bowl. Mix until well blended. 
  • Transfer to a serving dish. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Top with crispy fried onions.
  • Serve with your favorite chips and raw vegetables.

Tips and Substitutions
    • A homemade version of 1 Lipton Onion Soup Mix packet can be used instead of store-bought. For 1 packet, simply combine 2 ½ tablespoons dried minced onion, 4 cubes regular or reduced sodium beef bouillon, crumbled, 1 teaspoon onion powder, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper.
    • For a healthier alternative, you can use light sour cream or plain Greek yogurt in place of regular sour cream.
    • If your grocery store doesn’t have Philadelphia Garlic & Herb Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, you can substitute it with the chive flavor, an 8 ounce plain whipped cream cheese, a brick of regular cream cheese, or a brick of plain light cream cheese mixed. Along with one of these plain cream cheeses, add 1 minced garlic clove or ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon dried herbs (such as an Italian seasoning blend), ¼ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black or white pepper.
    • Instead of crispy fried onions, you can also top this herb dip with green onions, fresh chives, or fresh herbs. They can add a pop of color and freshness.
