Ingredients
2tbsp + 1 tspcornstarch
8cupsmilkdivided
8ozdark chocolate bars (70% cacao)chopped
8ozsemi-sweet chocolate chips
½cupsugar
2teaspoonvanilla extract
Pinch of Salt
Instructions
To a large saucepan on medium heat, add 7 cups milk. To the reserved cup of milk, whisk in cornstarch until blended well and set aside. When bubbles appear around edge of the pan, whisk in both chocolates, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until blended and smooth. Whisk in cornstarch mixture.
Taste a spoonful to see if it’s at your desired sweetness. Bring to a light boil, then reduce to simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and serve or pour in a crockpot set to warm. As it cools, it will continue to thicken. Serve with your hot chocolate topping favorites.
