Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Cookies

What says Fall more than the flavors of these scrumptious pumpkin spice cream cheese cookies.

Ingredients

  • Cookie:
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup solid pack pumpkin
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8oz cream cheese (regular or low-fat)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

    Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and pumpkin pie spice in a medium bowl. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add pumpkin, egg, and vanilla and beat until light and creamy. Add the dry ingredients and mix until well blended. Scoop 1-2 tablespoon size cookies onto a greased cookie sheet or silpat. Slightly flatten with your fingertips. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Meanwhile for the frosting, whip together cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter and vanilla until smooth. Once the cookies are cooled, evenly spread frosting on top and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
