Meatball Stromboli

Introducing…the MEATBALL STROMBOLI! After the pizza and philly cheesesteak strombolis were such a hit, I knew I wanted to explore more stromboli flavors and varieties. I saw a version of this on TikTok, wrote down how my family would like it, and went straight to the grocery store. Golly gomer it was a winner!

Ingredients

  • 13.8 oz Pillsbury Pizza Crust
  • 3 slices Provolone
  • 6 oz shredded mozzarella
  • 39 meatballs
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan, divided
  • Filling Options: onions, peppers,
  • olives, mushrooms, jalapeños
  • 1 egg + 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Pizza sauce for dipping
  • Recipe

Bake meatballs according to package directions. Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. If using vegetables, dice them to your preference and set aside. Roll dough in a large rectangle, about 14”x18”. Arrange Provolone down the middle, and sprinkle on half of the mozzarella. Place meatballs on the cheese in rows of 3 (mine held 13 rows). Sprinkle on vegetables, remaining mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan. Brush egg wash along the edges of the dough. Cut matching lines on each side of the dough. Overlap dough over the filling in a braid-like fashion. Brush the top with the egg wash, and sprinkle on Italian seasoning and remaining Parmesan. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve with pizza sauce.
