Crockpot Braised Beef Short Ribs

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…beef short ribs are my favorite cut of meat! If you haven’t had them, you’ve got to give them a try! This recipe is a quick-prep variation and it leaves the flavor profiles up to you. I used a jar of tangy Cherry Republic braising sauce, but if you don’t have this in your area, I’ve shown some grocery store finds that would work as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2-2 lb beef short ribs
  • flour for dredging
  • salt/pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • braising/crockpot sauce of choice
  • Recipe

Salt and pepper all sides of the ribs. Add about 1/2 cup of flour and seasoned ribs to a Ziploc bag. Close and shake so that they're coated well. Drizzle olive oil in a medium skillet on medium-high. Once the oil is hot, shake off any excess flour and sear the ribs 2 minutes per side. Pour half of your sauce in the crockpot. Add ribs and pour remaining sauce on top. Fill your braising sauce container with 1/2 cup water, stir, and add to the crockpot. Add 1/2 cup of water to the skillet, scrape up any solid pieces, and add to the crockpot. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 5-6 hours.
