Copycat Bonefish Grill House Salad & Bang Bang Shrimp

Bonefish Grill was one of my favorite restaurants in Lexington, KY. Their house salad and Bang Bang Shrimp I often crave, and I feel these copycat recipes give the exact flavors and satisfaction!

Ingredients

  • Dressing:
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp lime juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • Salad:
  • 1 head red leaf lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 heart of palm, sliced
  • 1/4 cup kalamata olives
  • 1-2 tbsp roasted, salted pumpkin seeds
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 1/2-1 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1-2 tsp sriracha (optional)
  • Egg Mixture:
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Breading Mixture:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne (optional)
  • 3/4-1lb medium or large peeled, deveined
  • shrimp, tails-removed
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Garnish: lettuce and sliced green onions
  • Recipe

    For the salad dressing, whisk or shake ingredients together until well emulsified. Pour desired amount of dressing on lettuce in a large bowl and toss to coat well. Plate the lettuce and top with remaining ingredients. For the bang bang shrimp, pour oil in a frying pan enough to measure a depth of 1/2-inch and turn heat to high. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the breading mixture. In another shallow bowl, whisk together the egg mixture. For the sauce, In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, chili garlic sauce and sriracha. Set aside. Once the oil has reached 350°F, dip the shrimp into the breading mixture, then egg mixture, back into the breading mixture, then carefully drop in the oil. Work in batches if necessary. Turning midway, cook the shrimp a total of 3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Toss the shrimp with the sauce in a large bowl. Plate on top of lettuce and garnish with sliced green onions.
