Apple Crisp Bars

These Apple Crisp Bars are DIVINE! The aroma while they’re baking, unbelievable!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp COLD butter
  • Recipe

    In a mixer, add 1 stick room temperature butter and ¼ cup brown sugar. Mix on medium speed until creamed, about 1 minute, then add ½ tsp vanilla and ¼ cups plain flour. Mix on low speed, then medium until it resembles a crumble. Pour in a parchment paper lined 8”x8” pan and press down. Bake at 350ºF for 14 minutes. For Filling: Mix 4 cup sliced apples, ¼ cup sugar, and 2 tbsp flour. For Crumble: Whisk together ½ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup sugar, ¾ cup plain flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, and ½ tsp salt. Freeze 6 Tbsp butter for 10 minutes then grate into whisked ingredients. Gingerly incorporate butter into crumble ingredients. Pour apples over cooked crust then top with crumble. Bake at 350ºF
