Awww!! I’m so happy you made them. As the mixture cools, it thickens. It’s important for that wait time before rolling. They are still tender, but they’ll hold their shape at that point. I hope its a HIT next time!

Flavor is wonderful but I’m thinking there may be a mistake in the recipe (or in my execution of it) because my mixture was very crumbly and it was difficult to form into cohesive balls. I tried twice with the same result. Now trying to figure out how to salvage the delicious mess I made!

These are so delicious. I never realized how much dates could taste like caramel. I tried rolling them and coconut but I think I preferred the graham cracker it stuck better.

I opted for the Publix’s brand which does not contain malt to ensure the treat was gluten free. What is your opinion of malt containing gluten? Recipe was great, easy to make and my family loved them.

Once set and cooled, store date balls in an airtight container with parchment or wax paper between the layers in a cool, dry place up to 2-3 weeks. They can also be stored in the freezer up to 2-3 months.
